Production Overview

The primary focus of this proposal is to support Garmin's still-image needs for the Tactix 9 Pro launch with authentic Tactical Games–style photography. The shoot will take place on Jacob Heppner's private property, which includes a gym, outdoor training areas, and a range on the same 50-acre location. A second shoot day is also planned at an additional location, with the final spot to be determined based on the option chosen for the project.

03Site Recommendation

Approved Location: Jacob Heppner Property

The Heppner property is approved as the primary shoot location. The 50-acre site includes a gym, range, outdoor training areas, and multiple natural backdrops, allowing Garmin to capture the main Tactical Games-style content as well as gym-focused imagery without requiring a separate venue.

A second shoot day at an additional location is also planned. The final location for that second day is still being determined — the two options currently under consideration are a local Kansas City-area shoot (possibly Weston, MO) or a travel shoot in Arkansas.

Walkthrough NoteThe Garmin team will complete a site walkthrough in July to finalize specific shot locations at the Heppner property and determine which zones are best suited for the final shot list.

Talent Cost & Deliverables

Jacob Heppner is on the Garmin team and has approved this usage, which waives the project's talent cost for his participation. The tradeoff is that images of the Garmin Rangefinder cannot be included in the final deliverables.

05.1 / Wardrobe

Talent Wardrobe

Once talent is approved by Garmin, 6 Media will begin work on wardrobe direction and approval for each shoot environment. Below are early references from the Garmin creative deck — used as a starting point for both the gym and range looks. Final wardrobe selections will be submitted to Garmin for sign-off before production.

06Primary Objective

Main Effort: Tactical Games Still Photography

The main effort will focus on capturing still images that position the Garmin Tactix 9 Pro in an authentic Tactical Games–style environment. This includes outdoor training, range work, rifle and pistol handling, and fitness-based tactical movements.

The shoot will be designed around realistic, on-location scenarios that match the rugged, tactical, and performance-driven look Garmin wants to promote for the watch.

Capture Target

There are 7 different groupings of photo examples listed below. The goal is to capture photos of each example, pending Garmin approval.

07Approved Add-On

Approved Add-On: Gym Photography

In addition to the Tactical Games main effort, Garmin has approved a separate set of gym-focused still images that fit the look and feel of the Garmin Tactix 9 Pro.

This add-on expands the content library beyond range and tactical fitness imagery by capturing more traditional strength, conditioning, and gym-based product moments.

Recommended Fitness Movements Inside Gym

  • Wallballs
  • Deadlift
  • Cleans
  • Kettlebell work
  • Pullups

Not an exhaustive list — directional reference for the reader.

Production RecommendationFor the gym-focused images, 6 Media recommends using a separate talent from the Tactical Games shoot. This gives Garmin more variety in the final content library and creates a different look for the gym-focused assets.
